Description
LootCount is an addon I initially wrote for myself for grinding purposes. It will display on-screen the count of items you have. Just drag an item to one of the slots in the auto-sizing LootCount frame, and LootCount will display new locations for you to drop the item in. That's all there is to it. Go grind your stuff.
Include alts
By selecting the "Include alts" option, LootCount will display a count of items accumulated from all your alts (Servers and Horde/Alliance is separated). The initial number in the watch-icon will then diaply a single number, and upon mouse-over you will be presented with a list of the items' location - like:
- Bags: 17
- Bank: 20
- Altname1: 4
- Altname2: 2
The same type of mouse-over will be displayed if "Include alts" is selected and you mouse-over a money-watch.
Kill-countdown
Ever wondered how many kills you need to level up, or how many kills you need to get to the next reputation level? If you have, LootCount will tell you. Just select the option (REP and/or XP) you need from the LootCount menu and click one of the empty slots that just appeared. If you chose XP, that is all there is to it. If you chose REP you will also need to select the faction you want to watch. You do this by opening the wow reputation window (shortcut "U"), click the faction you want to watch, check the "View as experience bar" option.
The counter icon will contain two numbers. The bottom-right number will show an estimate based on the last mobs you have been killing, and the upper left will show you how many of the last mob you killed you will need to get to the next level. These numbers will get more and more equal as you approach your next level. If you choose to switch zone or mob-type, LootCount will adapt and tweak the estimate within a number of kills.
Party/raid
LootCount also supports party and raid loot (big thanks to belleboom for the idea). This is all automatic, and only requires someone else in the party/raid to have LootCount installed and the same item in any slot in LootCount. In that case, LootCount will show the count for several characters added together. Perfect for grinding rep-items together with a friend. This can be switches off from the menu.
Goals
LootCount supports setting of goals (big thanks to Faladrin for the initial code). Just right-click on any item and type in the amount you want to set as a goal. LootCount will then show you how many you have and how many more you need. As an example: The image with 3 items in it shows what it looks like when you are grinding alone. Item 1 from the left shows normal without a goal set. Item 2 shows how it looks when your goal is met. Item 3 shows when the goal is not met yet (i.e 3 more items needed)
The setting of goals also works when you are doing group-loot. As an example: The image with 4 items in it shows what it looks like in a group. In this example there is a two-man group each with 2 Gold Ore. Item 1 from the left shows normal with no goal set. Item 2 shows with a goal of 1, so both the group and you have met the goal. Item 3 shows with goal set to 3, and the group have met the goal, but you alone haven't yet. Item 4 shows with goal set to 5, so you have 2 items and the group needs 1 more to reach the goal.
The LootCount interface
The slots are generated on a need-basis. Just drag an item from your bags over the LootCount interface and it will display empty buttons where you can drop the item. This way it is possible to align as you position items. It can be horizontal, vertical, an angle, a cross, a huge blob, some rows, some columns, or any combination thereof. Just position and build.
Item icons can be resized. Select any of the presets from the menu, or type "/lc ?" to see a brief help on setting custom sizes.
The center square is you control for LootCount. Drag any corner of it to move the fram anywhere you want it. Right-clicking the edges brings up the menu where you can customize it further.
Usage
- Type "/lc" or "/lootcount" to open or close the frame (or make a key-binding or macro for easier access)
- Drop items on it
- Go grind your stuff
